Noah is almost 6 months old so I started making him some baby food last week. Here is my obligatory baby's first homemade food post:

Ingredients: avocado, water

First I scooped out the avocado and plopped in into my trusty ole Magic Bullet with a half cup of water and let it rip. A few seconds later I had a thick mush so I added another half a cup of water and after another whirl in the bullet I was happy with the consistency.

I (sloppily) poured the avocado puree into an ice tray and let it freeze for 4 hours. The ice cube tray/freezer method is ideal because you are going to waste less. Each cube is about an ounce of food.

Then I popped them into a labeled and dated ziplock bag. They will be good in the freezer for up to 3 months.

And the result?
Fail. Noah won't eat anything. He has learned to turn his head and keep his lips tight. Little stinker.
He will, however, suck on a slice of apple or mango or an edamame pod (under my supervision of course). If he continues to resist my attempts I am going to try the Baby Led Weaning approach.

Let me know if you're new here so I can follow you back!
Happy Linking!

  1. I'm a new follower from the blog hop! We haven't tried Avocados yet, but it took my little one about 2 weeks to get the hang of eating off of a spoon.
