Last week Noelle completed the Letter E curriculum. We have so much fun every morning "at school." I love watching her learn. She gets so excited about the activities and hates when our time is up - which is usually when baby brother wakes up.
A few of her favorite Letter E activities were:
Sorting Big E's and little e's.
Simple math.
Gluing, of course. She really enjoyed finding the letters to spell Elephant.
Tracing and writing big and little E's.
We took a trip on Friday to the zoo to hang out with the elephants.
"E is for Elephants!"
We are very lucky to have a beautiful zoo just 30 minutes from our house. It's one of Noelle's favorite places to go.
Noah wasn't too impressed.
"Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"
Yep, we need a double stroller!

ReplyDeleteWhat curriculum are you using? and do you have any suggestions about how to do things with a 2 year old? I'm struggling with the concept of only teaching one instead of 20 of them and not sure what to do. I would love some insight.

Kari and Jill - Most of the printables you see are from Confessions of a Homeschooler - the Letter of the Week coursework. I downloaded it for $10. She has most of it on her blog available for free but it's easier to download it all at once. And for $10 it's definitely worth it.
ReplyDeleteThere are tons of free printables you can download on the web to begin teaching the alphabet/numbers/colors/shapes.
Check out some of the activities that Noelle did under "Teaching my Toddler." When she was 2 I used "games" to teach her the alphabet and numbers 1-10. Now we are going through each letter and learning how to write it and the sound it makes to prepare her to begin reading. Today, for example, she learned that "U says Uh" and she read the word "up."
And now that she knows numbers 1-20 she is doing simple math - addition and subtraction.
Noelle just turned 3 on June 12th. Let me know if you have any other questions or if you want to see more of what we do at "school."
